The EZ•DO Token Rewards program is very straightforward once you begin! However, there are a few extra steps you should take before beginning to ensure that both you and your children understand what is expected and how the program works to help everyone!
Read All Available Tokens: Acquaint yourself with the EZ•DO Token Rewards system and read over each token to know what you're able to reward your child with.
Remember, there are 60 tokens total! The Activity Tokens all have different activities while the Good Job tokens are a very straightforward way of saving. The Allowance tokens allow you to reward your child with an allowance while assuring that they won't spend it irresponsibly!
Decide Which Sets Are for You: You don't have to use every token set if you don't want! Exclude whatever doesn't work for you. The Token Rewards Lifestyle Program keeps all the decisions in your hands as a valued parent!
Consider showing your kids the available rewards if you're not sure if you'll use it. It could be something that they can work hard towards (and potentially write in as a saved up reward)!
Establish an Understanding: Spend time explaining how your child can earn the tokens that you have chosen. Make sure they recognize that they are awarded for good work and are a priviledge to keep!
Also explain that some tokens are harder to earn than others, and that they should always be on their best behavior for the better rewards!
Talk About What They Want: Have a conversation with your kids about what they want from their efforts. Decide on each milestone reward, and then write them all down on the inside of the Token Bank! Also have your child write their name on the top lid!
Hand It Over to Them: Give your child the token bank and explain how the 5-10-15-20 token scale works and how they'll earn the rewards you discussed.
This is a great time to tell them about their responsibility to keep up good behavior. Your child will understand that losing coins won't help them get their prizes if you take them away for misbehaving!
Assign Some Chores: It's time to get some chores done! Assign chores as per your expectations. It's best that they do their chores then receive a reward, rather than promising them beforehand. This encourages better self-direction in the future and allows you to reward based on their effort!
Organizing chores don't have to be a hassle, either! The EZ•DO Kids Chores program for kids lets you set up their tasks so everyone knows what needs to be done, with less arguing!
Cash In: Once your child has earned enough tokens to have reached a milestone reward, let them trade it in for a reward! Make sure you deliver on your promise for their efforts as soon as you can, and set some new ones once they've had their fun!
It's recommended that all rewards are written in pencil on the scale so that they're easily rewritten. Alternatively, place some blank labels overtop and write on those!
